Building From Scratch!: COMPLETE
 in Seaside Park, NJ

Several months ago, we told you about a project that we were working on-- a new beach house under construction on the shore.  In under 6 months, A&E Construction built this over 3,000 sf home from start to finish.  With construction complete in June, the clients were able to enjoy their new vacation home for the summer season before graciously having us to photograph the home.  Now we want to share with you the photographs of the final product!

A blue and yellow nautical theme dominates the decor of this home, fitting of a family beach house.  Cheery yellow walls and bright white trim work reflect the natural light from several glass doors and windows, while hardwood floors bring a warmth and depth to the space.

The kitchen for this home is open to the rest of the floor, perfect for entertaining.  The room is organized around a large central island that offers plenty of space for food preparation and bar seating.  A sandy color scheme and natural wood cabinetry give the room a beachy aesthetic, in accordance with the style of the rest of the home.

The master suite branches off from the kitchen area.  The spacious bedroom is lit by a number of windows, and decorated in the blue and yellow coastal theme that's carried throughout the rest of the floor.  Connected to the bedroom are a large walk-in closet and private bathroom, seen below.

For this project, we maximized views of the nearby beach landscape both by including many large windows and glass doors in the design, and also including several outdoor decks.   One such area is the covered front balcony on the second story of the home (seen below).

A brief trip up the custom staircase to the third floor brings you to another living room, complete with a full wet bar.  Designed for entertaining, this room opens up to two independent deck areas with plenty of room for sitting, standing, or sunbathing.

ORIGINAL BLOG:
A gorgeous new home in Seaside has been the focus of much of A&E's attention these past few months. Although this vacant lot near the shore looked bare at the start, plenty of time, expert construction, and beautiful design work have kept this project on track for an early-June completion date.

"X" marks the spot... time to get digging!

Foundations in progress: take a look at the rebar configuration!

After working with the client to develop the final designs, we broke ground in November.  A solid foundation is the first step for any major building project, and the piles of dirt shown above are a testament to the hard labor that went into its construction.  With a solid base to build on, our experienced contractors brought the walls to life by way of an extensive scaffolding network.  Even in its unfinished state, the skeleton of the house began to show the types of beautiful views and natural lighting effects that would prevail throughout the finished project.

Plenty of windows for viewing the beautiful seaside landscape

Construction persevered despite the damp New Jersey weather, and the spaces within and around the house began to take shape. When the woodwork was completed, it was time to begin implementing the finishes that will designate the home as a true masterpiece when completed.

Our dedicated team at work in the cold rain

Now with completion on the horizon, the house is already showing some of the precise detailing, fresh coloring, and lightness that will characterize the final product.  A wonderful addition to the neighborhood, this home will surely serve its owners well.  Stay tuned to see the project after completion!
