We like James Hardie siding for a number of reasons...it's durable, it offers unbeatable home protection, and it enhances the look of any home with beautiful ColorPlus technology. Re-siding your home is a big investment that can payoff with increasing the future resale value of your home while enhancing your home's look and sealing from the inside-out.
You can experiment with different types of siding, colors, and accents with the James Hardie Design Your Home Tool. In the design above, we chose Hardie Plank Smooth siding in Iron Grey. An arctic white trim with mixed stone masonry and a grey roof completes our interactive home design.
Hardie Plank Smooth Siding is one of the most popular brands of siding that is constructed with specific performance attributes to the specific climate where the home is located.
Hardie Shingle Siding has a uniquely warm and authentic look like that of cedar shingles, but does not crack or split. Shingle siding also comes in different decorative styles such as the staggered edge design in our interactively designed house to the right.

Set to be completed in October, this project will consist of building a new playroom atop an existing garage footprint, enclosing the existing front porch into a main hallway, remodeling the kitchen, and re-roofing & re-siding the entire exterior of the house.
Already, A&E has paved the way for a timely and efficient job by removing the original garage and using the existing concrete block foundation and slab to construct new walls and roofing for the modified garage addition.
In upcoming weeks, A&E plans to construct a new stair enclosure servicing the playroom as well as new cover porch stairs and a bluestone landing at the main entry of the house.

We will be creating a foyer to service the new entry to the house as well as provide access to the garage, new playroom, and mudroom areas.
With all of the initial framework completed, A&E's team is ready to install the new HardieWrap over the entire surface of this Pennington home addition.
Initial Walls and Roof Framing Complete
The HardieWrap weather barrier is an innovative new product that provides a 2nd defense against water damage, mildew, and energy loss.
It is specially designed to create a balance of water resistance and breathability by letting in moisture from inside your home to escape so the area within your walls stays dry.
Now that this is complete, A&E's Hardie siding will be installed in the upcoming weeks.
What's great about HardiePlank siding is that homeowners can choose from a wide variety of looks & textures to fit the style of their home. The fibrous quality of HardiePlank creates a very natural, wood-like appearance to the exterior of a re-sided home.
In addition to siding, A&E's home renovation will include re-roofing the entire house by removing existing roofing and roofing felt.
In upcoming blog posts, be sure to check out photos of the new roofing installation so you can see how roofing color can greatly enhance the exterior paint on your home.
